Paul M. Getty is President and Chief Executive Officer of FGG1031/First Guardian Group, a financial advisory firm assisting investors to build wealth using a variety of real estate investment strategies. His advisory work spans all major asset classes of real estate, including single family, apartments, retail, office, multifamily, and student and senior housing. He specializes in helping investors accomplish the entire 1031 Exchange process, including properties structured as a Delaware Statutory Trust (DST) as well as access to wholly owned real estate.

Paul is also a licensed real estate broker in the states of California and Texas and has been directly involved in commercial transactions totaling over $5 billion in assets throughout the United States. He holds Series 22, 62, 63, and 82 securities licenses and is a registered representative with Emerson Equity LLC, member FINRA /SIPC.

Paul has represented both the buy and sell sides of real estate deals, as well as the sourcing and structuring of debt and equity, and asset and property management. He has worked closely with nationally prominent real estate brokerage and investment organizations including Marcus Millichap, CB Richard Ellis, JP Morgan, and Morgan Stanley among others. Paul maintains a broad network of active buyers and sellers of commercial real estate including lenders, institutions, family office managers, and high net worth individuals.

Prior to founding FGG1031 / First Guardian Group, Paul was a co-founder and CEO of Venture Navigation, a boutique investment banking firm specializing in structuring equity investments made by institutions and high-net-worth individuals. He possesses over 25 years of comprehensive worldwide business management experience in environments ranging from early-phase start-ups to multi-billion-dollar corporations. His track record includes participation in IPOs and successful M&A activity that has resulted in investor returns of over $700M.

Paul began his career in real estate at the age of 14 and has a passion for the industry. He holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Michigan and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Wayne State University. He has also completed classes on Artificial Intelligence at Stanford University. 

Paul is a noted speaker, author, and actively lectures on investments and tax deferral strategies.
